History of Venetian Marina, Cheshire

Venetian Marina was founded as a family business in 1971 by the Dean family. Originally opened for fibre glass boats, the marina increasingly catered for steel narrow boats as trends changed.

Mr Dean retired and on 1st December 2011 he sold the business to Whilton Marina, the UK’s largest narrow boat brokerage - providing a much-needed base for boat sales in north-west England.

Since purchasing Venetian Marina we have improved the marina infrastructure, and have installed brand new pontoons with wi-fi and electrics, a new narrowboat sales office and chandlery, new moorer's shower block and laundry. Further details are listed on our improvement plans page.
