Great narrow boat cruises in North-West England
We are in an excellent location close to the Cheshire Ring, Llangollen Canal, Shropshire Union and Trent and Mersey, so there are plenty of places awaiting a leisurely visit.
Here are a few suggestions to whet your appetite:
- If you’ve got a week to spare, the Llangollen Canal is a 48-mile trip and a very popular route. You’ll get amazing views of the Pontcyssyllte aqueduct, Britain’s longest and highest aqueduct and a World Heritage Site.
- The Cheshire Ring is 97 miles long, so it’s also popular if you have plenty of time to spare. This is a journey of contrasts – from the cityscape of Manchester through to the tranquillity of the Peak Forest.
- If you’re pushed for time, Chester is only 15 miles away, although you’ll need to navigate the Bunbury locks. It’s a beautiful city and there’s so much to do – great shopping, a day at the races, a Roman amphitheatre or strolling around parks and gardens.
- Audlem is another popular destination from our marina. Part of the Four Counties Ring and with its 15 locks, the highlights are Audlem Mill and village.
And don’t forget, our marina is located just outside historic Nantwich. Historic buildings, a local zoo, arts and crafts and even an ice cream farm – there’s plenty to see and do when you visit Venetian Marina.
