Start the day with a green smoothie Avocado Smoothie
Ingredients1ripe avocado, halved, seeded, and peeled
1banana
1/4cup plain Greek yogurt
1cup orange juice
1tablespoon honey
1teaspoon grated fresh ginger
salt (optional)
2 cups ice
Directions In a blender combine avocado, banana, orange juice, plain Greek yogurt, honey, grated fresh ginger, and a dash of salt, if desired.
Cover and blend until smooth. Add 2 cups ice; blend until smooth.
A cheeky Margarita for lunch …..
Ingredients 3 cups Triple Sec or other orange liqueur
2 cups tequila
1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lime juice
1 cup superfine sugar or powdered sugar
Kosher salt
9 lime wedges
Ice cubes
Directions In a pitcher combine Triple Sec, tequila, lime juice, and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Chill mixture until ready to serve.
Place salt on a small plate. Rub rims of eight glasses with one of the lime wedges. Dip rims of glasses in salt to coat.
Place ice cubes in salt-rimmed glasses. Pour tequila mixture over ice cubes. Garnish with remaining lime wedges.
Finish the day with… a Lemon-Cucumber RefresherIngredients5 cucumber slices
3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) light rum
4 ½ teaspoons (3/4 ounce) lemon juice
4 teaspoons (about 3/4 ounce) Simple Syrup
Ice cubes, Cucumber slices (optional)
Directions Place 5 cucumber slices in a cocktail shaker. To muddle, gently crush cucumber with the back of a spoon. Add rum, lemon juice, and Simple Syrup. Add ice cubes; cover and shake until very cold. Strain liquid into an ice-filled glass. If desired, garnish with additional cucumber slices.
Drink Guinness
Don’t start too early, but having a pint or two off the black stuff is a sure way of getting into the celebrations.
